For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a]faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Romans 12:4-8
The Lord wants each and everyone of us to use the talent/s that we have been given. We believe that each member here at the Daingerfield church of Christ wants to use their talents for the glory of God. We also know that it takes all of us together to accomplish the Lord's will in growing as a body of believers and that each talent is very important and with purpose. The purpose of this ministry is to spur one another on to use their talents. We want to strive that our whole church family is involved in the work the Lord has given us by His grace.
TUESDAY NIGHT FOR THE MASTER has been a ministry that has served this congregation for many years. It has served its purpose well in allowing us to glorify the Lord in many ways. There have been numerous meals cooked, visits made, cards written, phone calls made, WBS material graded, cleaning, etc. We praise God for all the opportunities He has given us and pray for the future opportunities that He will give our church family to serve. Over the past few years we have been praying that more brothers and sisters could join in this ministry. We also have been praying and thinking in what to do that would make this possible. We also know some of the hardships to visit on a Tuesday evening, or even being able to contact one by calling on one night of the week. We all believe the work done is vital and important. TNFTM helps us to keep up with those who have been sick, visit someone who has not been able to attend worship, calling someone to let them know we are here for them, or writing letters to the sick, those in prison, those in college, etc. Many times, I have heard some say they would like to attend but it is hard with a week involved with other commitments. We have decided that these areas need to continue, but in a different form than TNFTM in order that more may be involved and give more options of when the visit could be done, the phone call made, or the cards written. We are also praying for new ways to serve that will be beneficial both for the church and the community. May the Lord direct us and let’s continue serving. We certainly want to thank all those who have served and maintained different areas of TNFTM over the years and for all who have participated and made this ministry part of their lives. We still are looking forward to your continued service to the Lord. Thank you for your time, sweat, and hard work. God has done amazing things though you. Here is what we are planning to do in order to give the opportunity for more to serve. We are planning to have a table setup in the fellowship area where the Wednesday evening meal is served. You can go by the table to select an area you would like to serve. Be it writing, visiting, phone calling, and other areas that will be available. There will be a person at the table to help you. You will be given a card with the person to visit, call, write, etc. Please return this card in the fellowship hall by Sunday in a box provided on the table stating how things went on your task of visiting or calling. Card writing just simply return the card into the box (we will post them). The table will be setup and available during the same cycle that the meals are provided for the congregation on Wednesday evenings. It is our prayer that many will be able to participate and that our Lord continue receiving all the glory. We look forward to the fruits that will be produced by continuing to do God’s good, pleasing, perfect will in our lives. As Galatians 6:9-10 says “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” God bless all of us as we strive to the love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. Keep fired up in the Lord, Mark “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Cor. 15:58.
